Come with us on an exciting journey to a faraway place! Terra Madre African Safaris will take you to Kenya and introduce you to her wild animals, tropical beaches, majestic mountains and magical lakes. We'll leave the tourist trail to be welcomed into rural communities to learn about cultural traditions and work with residents on small projects. It just might change your life!

Welcome to Terra Madre
African Safaris!
The Directors and staff of Friends of Kenya Schools and Wildlife (FKSW) and the Network for Ecofarming in Africa (NECOFA) invite you to join us on our next Terra Madre African Safari. As partner non-governmental organizations (NGOs), the main purpose of our efforts in Kenya is to support participatory community development in rural areas of the country. Through our safaris, we provide unique opportunities for Kenyans and non-Kenyans to interact and work together and for visitors to experience the rich and diverse cultural traditions of the Kenyan people; to learn about community development and other topics of interest, such as health, governance, education, politics and livelihood; and to visit game parks, heritage and other sites of interest, and different geographical areas throughout the country.
We will also expose visitors to issues of food: production, culinary practices and cultural traditions The program will expand your understanding of the challenges facing people in developing countries and how NECOFA and FKSW support activities and projects in rural communities. You will be able to experience aspects of their daily lives and share community involvement activities such as:
- Small construction projects
- Daily chores with animals, gardens and other household necessities
- Education, by visiting a primary or secondary school
- Health care, by visiting a dispensary or clinic
- School or community garden projects
- Environmental projects
