Edonyio Sidai Nursery School, Kiserian

In Maa, the language of the Maasai, Edonyio Sidai means “Beautiful Rock.” An hour southwest of Nairobi on the edge of the Great Rift Valley, the Maasai of Edonyio Sidai tend their cattle sheep and goats in the arid, rocky hills that surround the school. Zebra, ostrich, gazelle, baboons and other wildlife share the land, and stunning views into the Great Rift Valley.

At Edonyio Sidai Nursery School, FKSW has provided the resources for:
  • primary school scholarships for 12 children for 8 years each
  • construction of a new nursery school and one additional classroom
  • desks and benches for the new classroom and repairs on the existing furniture
  • teacher table and chairs
  • a water catchment system for the nursery school
  • curriculum texts, exercise books, wall charts, chalk, erasers, and other supplies
  • soccer uniforms and balls
